North west insurance firm Bollington Insurance Brokers has acquired Ashgrove Insurance Services, it has announced.
Bollington, which has offices in Altrincham, Manchester, Liverpool, Bollington and Macclesfield, said the deal will see it further expand its range of products and services.
Ashgrove, which provides insurance products to SMEs across the north west region, will continue to operate from its Ashton-under-Lyne office, the firm said.
Bollington Insurance Brokers chief executive Paul Moors said: “This acquisition fits well with our model of providing quality insurance and services to niche markets, particularly in serving landlords, motor fleets and the manufacturing sector.
“I have known [Ashgrove’s Managing Director] Stephen Duffy for many years.
“We share the same principles, growing our businesses in collaboration with others to offer our clients the best quality of service they can expect from their broker.
“It’s great to welcome them to Bollington and a new chapter of success for us all.”
Bollington said the acquisition will see it near the £170m gross written premium mark, with headcount predicted to grow closer to 450 employees.
Stephen Duffy, Ashgrove Insurance MD, said: “Becoming a part of Bollington gives Ashgrove’s clients access to additional insurance products and the combined strength and experience of the wider group.
“Like Ashgrove, Bollington are renowned for offering a high-quality, personal service to all clients.
“We very much look forward to working together.”
