One of the UK’s leading childcare providers has announced its acquisition of the award-winning Scamps Day Nursery.

Scamps provides early years care from 7:30am to 6pm to children aged from 0-5 years. The sale, brokered by Christie & Co. sees Busy Bees acquire the setting located on Poplar Road in Macclesfield, which offers places for up to 98 children. Based in Macclesfield’s South Park, the nursery is away from busy main roads and has twice been voted by parents as the best nursery in the North-West.

Following the acquisition, Busy Bees now cares for more than 35,000 children across 379 nurseries in the UK and Ireland. Recent expansions overseas bring its total to 50,000 children across more than 500 nurseries in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, America, Vietnam and Australia.

Europe CEO of Busy Bees, Cheryl Creaser, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scamps’ staff, parents and children to the Busy Bees family. We love how Deborah and her team at Scamps aim to fill every day with excitement and fun, along with their commitment to care and education which helps children flourish. We look forward to collaborating with the team and building on their success as we look ahead to the future.”

Deborah Sutton, owner and manager at Scamps’, said: “I have had an amazing time running Scamps, but now is the time to step back. I know that in Busy Bees, we’ve found a partner that shares our values – to give children an ‘I Can’ mindset, and encourage a life-long love of learning. They practice these values in everything they do, and I believe Scamps will make a great addition to Busy Bees and its wider family.”
