Macclesfield optician in the frame for top industry award

OPTICIANS are raising their glasses after a colleague was shortlisted for a prestigious industry accolade.

Nicola Hughes, from Specsavers Macclesfield, situated in The Grosvenor Shopping Centre, is in the running for the Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year award, one of the most fiercely contested categories at this year’s Optician Awards.

The awards recognise excellence across a range of categories, attracting the UK’s most talented opticians, teams and companies. The Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year award focusses on how a customer’s contact lens journey is supported. It also recognises the level of knowledge, expertise and innovative ways used to promote contact lens wear to a wide range of customers, as well as the ongoing commitment to growing the contact lens service, while continuing to deliver service excellence.

Nicola Hughes, Specsavers Macclesfield contact lens practitioner, says:

The winners will be announced and presented with trophies at a glittering black-tie dinner and celebration at The Hilton, Park Lane, London on the 6 December 2023.
