The Macclesfield Town App is an exclusive business listing for local businesses based in and around the Macclesfield area promoting their trade to local and visiting consumers.
Available through both the Google Play and Apple stores, the free service launched on 1st November 2019 and had 1,000 downloads within six days of its launch.
It was created by Fabio Mazzieri and Steve Morton, two local businessmen who are passionate about their area and its potential to attract new businesses and visitors. The pair, who are joint owners of Macclesfield-based Digi Comms North Ltd, are holding a networking event later this month for all those who have signed up.
Fabio, who also owns Silk Fitness Therapy Fitness Hub and co-owns software company Webbox Ltd, said: “Macclesfield is a fantastic, innovative and vibrant town, local businesses and residents are passionate about the future for Macclesfield. We just want to make it easier for consumers, both local and visiting to find local businesses and spend locally boosting Macclesfield’s economy.”
Steve also owns a website design company called Nettle, which is based in Bollington. The two men say the Macclesfield Town App has over 500 businesses listed so far, with more being added to it daily. It allows users to search where to drink and eat, find local services, where the nearest ATM is, call businesses through the app and use the map location facility.
“There is a live feed for bus and train times and a what’s on calendar that lists events going on in Macclesfield.”
A free networking event for those who are listed or have downloaded the app will be held at the Tytherington Club on December 16. There will be free festive snacks and a bar open afterwards. There are currently 80 businesses attending and just a few spaces left, which can be booked through Eventbrite.
