Opticians step up to raise money for MIND

A team of Macclesfield opticians took part in a hike up Mam Tor at the weekend to raise funds for MIND.

The Specsavers Macclesfield team took part in the challenge in partnership with Duco, an outdoor clothing brand who arranged the hike, with all funds raised being donated to the charity.

MIND is a mental health charity helping people across England and Wales get the support they need, empowering people to understand their mental health and the choices available to them.

To further support the cause, Specsavers Macclesfield hosted a bake sale in store earlier this month with delicious bakes goods, raising over £150 in total.

Angharad Butler, store director at Specsavers Macclesfield, says:

“It’s been a really positive month for fundraising initiatives at Specsavers Macclesfield and we’re delighted to have helped raise money for MIND both through our bake sale and our hike up Mam Tor.”

“It’s extremely important that people struggling with their mental health are getting the support they need, and MIND do a fantastic job ensuring guidance and resources are available to those who need it.”

“This activity follows a month of fundraising activities conducted by the store, including participating in a pancake race in the town centre, where multiple companies took part to raise funds for East Cheshire Hospice – with the event raising over £900 in total.”
