SAS Daniels Announces Strategic Leadership Transition and Board Appointments

Leading North West law firm SAS Daniels LLP has announced a significant transition in its senior leadership team. Justine Clowes, currently deputy CEO, business owner, and joint head of the Macclesfield office, has been appointed as the firm’s new managing partner. Nigel Read, business owner, head of property and joint head of the Macclesfield office, becomes senior partner.

Justine succeeds Jeremy Orrell, who is leaving the practice on 30 April. Jeremy qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and joined SAS Daniels in 2009. Under his leadership as CEO since 2017, the firm has seen substantial growth and Jeremy has overseen significant capital investment in the business and across its 4 offices.

As a Corporate lawyer, Jeremy leaves a legacy of over 1,000 corporate transactions, including high-profile legal matters exceeding £100m. His tenure has been marked by consistent recognition as a top-tier lawyer in Chambers and Partners and as a Leading Individual by Legal 500.

Kaye Whitby, a prominent figure across the region, who is held in the highest regard by her clients, will also be leaving the practice on 30 April. Kaye is a business owner, partner and head of the SAS Daniels Chester office.

Further strengthening the firm’s long-term strategy, SAS Daniels is pleased to announce that three long-standing senior team members have been promoted to equity partners. This cohort includes Helen Kelly, partner, head of private client, and joint head of the Stockport office, Steven Percy, partner and head of commercial property and Paul Tyrer, partner and joint head of the Congleton office. Paul will also step into the role of head of corporate, a position previously held by Jeremy.
