Specsavers Macclesfield opticians receive recognition for charity cake sale
Specsavers Macclesfield has been presented with a certificate of appreciation from East Cheshire Eye Society following the store’s successful cake sale.
Charity manager Alan Chappell from East Cheshire Eye Society visited the Mill Street Mall business to personally present the certificate and thank the team for their fundraising efforts, which raised £150 for the charity.
The cake sale was part of the store’s mini market, where team members Chrissie Parton and Jenna Higginbotham ran a pop-up stall outside the locally owned and run store. Homemade treats, including gingerbread, brownies and cakes baked by team member Amanda Earlam proved particularly popular with customers.
Leia Murray, community coordinator for Specsavers Macclesfield, said:
“We were delighted to welcome Alan to the store and receive this lovely recognition from East Cheshire Eye Society. It’s a charity we’ve proudly supported for many years and being able to contribute through our fundraising was a real team effort.”
“The cake sale was such a success thanks to our generous customers and the talented bakers on our team. It’s wonderful to know that our efforts will help support the important work East Cheshire Eye Society does in our local community.”
East Cheshire Eye Society provides practical and emotional support to people with sight loss across the Cheshire area, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.
