Tell us a bit about your business?
At SAS Daniels we offer a full range of legal services for your business or your family, including Corporate and Commercial, Employment Law and HR, Dispute Resolution, Property Law, Family Law and Wills, Trusts and Probate. We advise a range of clients from businesses to individuals and you’ll always find a team that combines specialist knowledge with a gift for simplifying complex situations.

At SAS Daniels we prefer everyday language to legalese and pride ourselves on listening carefully to our clients and responding with clarity and empathy. Our business has grown to see 4 offices, located in Macclesfield, Congleton, Chester and Stockport, with over 140 employees.

Tell Us About Your Role Within The Business?
I’m a partner at the firm and am responsible for running the Wills, Trust and Probate team. I am fortunate to work alongside a highly skilled group of lawyers who don’t really need much managing!

I am also joint head of our Macclesfield office with my partner Nigel Read, and we are responsible for ensuring that our office in Macclesfield runs smoothly.

We try to support local initiatives and events wherever possible and are keen to involve ourselves with projects and groups that are going to further Macclesfield’s position as a place to live, work and do business.

My specific “job” is dealing with Wills and Estate planning but I have a special interest in issues surrounding mental capacity.

In your opinion, what is the most interesting/high profile/exciting project you or your business has worked on?
As a law firm we experience a number of interesting cases and have specialists who work across specific industries, such as agricultural law, healthcare, construction, and music and media where many of the clients come with high profile names, all confidential of course! Due to the confidential and personal nature of the work that I do it is difficult to give too many details.

How long has the business been operating and how long have you been based in Macclesfield?
SAS Daniels came into being in 2006, but prior to that our Macclesfield office was part of Daniels Solicitors who have been in Macclesfield since at least 1950, and the firms that merged together to create Daniels had been in the town for many years prior to that.

What made you choose Macclesfield as a place to base your business?
For us Macclesfield is all about the community and this is one of reasons we continue to base part of our business here. It also has excellent transport links into Manchester, Stoke-on-Trent and London meaning we can continue to grow and attract businesses into the area.

What’s the best thing about working in Macclesfield?
The business community is one of the best things about working in Macclesfield. It’s a strong mix of businesses from all industries who are all passionate about working together, keeping it local and bringing business into Macclesfield. It’s great to see the community grow with groups such as Macclesfield Means Business and our Business Club networking event bringing everyone together.

Do You Have Any Specific Future Goals For The Business That You Would Like To Share?
To continue to grow and provide Macclesfield’s businesses and individuals with specialist legal advice when they need it most.
